After creating your client, you can click the "+ Appt" or "Add Appointment" button and it will default to today's date and nearest time. You can select a new date / time. Enter the client's email and select if you'd like to email them a reminder for their appointment. You can also create a note from the appointment and it will incorporate the visit reason (if you entered this info). The video below shows how easy it is to create an appointment and update it, you can send your client an email reminder (gives you the option to input their email if not already done). You will also receive an email reminder and a Google Cal and iCal file / link is generated automatically and linked to the reminder email and on the appointment screen.
